Morris County Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi, Esq., Chief of Investigations William Schievella, and Dover Chief of Police Harold Valentine announce the death investigation of an individual located in Dover, New Jersey.

The Morris County Prosecutor's Office Major Crime Unit along with the Dover Police Department, Morris County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Section and the Morris County Medical Examiner's Office are conducting an investigation into the death of Joseph Nedo, age 58 of Dover, New Jersey.

On Thursday, April 8, 2010 at approximately 8:25 p.m., a citizen reported that they noticed a person lying in the Rockaway River. Members from both the Dover Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene and removed the victim from the river. The victim was located in the river behind a residence on East Blackwell Street. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by the Morris County Medical Examiner.

The Morris County Medical Examiner's Office has determined that the cause of death was drowning with a contributory factor of alcohol intoxication. The manner of death remains under investigation.
