PRESENTS:
2ND ANNUAL IRISH HERITAGE MONTH CELEBRATION
MONDAY, MARCH 29TH, 2010 AT 7:00 PM
On Monday, March 29, 2010 The Morris County Prosecutor's Office Community Affairs Unit honored a variety of people of Irish ancestry for their dedication to the field of public service. Keynote speaker included Morris County Deputy Freeholder Director William J. Chegwidden. 4 (four) others shared in the spotlight, all each having distinct Irish descent - Morris County Undersheriff Jack Dempsey, United States Marshal Chief Inspector John Cuff, Morris County Prosecutor's Office Executive Captain Richard A. Rose, and Morris County Prosecutor's Office Supervising Assistant Prosecutor Maggie D. Calderwood, Esq.
As each honoree accepted their award, the audience was enlightened by stories of hard work and dedication. Their strong Irish roots were the driving force to their success today, and were each thankful for their families' devotions and commitment to their achievements.
Entertainment included a musical tribute by Irish band Croi na mBan, which in Gaelic means A Woman's Heart. The band, which was represented by two of its members, sang songs in both the Gaelic language and in English. A dance tribute was also provided by The Peter Smith School of Irish Dance of Morris Plains, and the audience was surprised and delighted to learn that Supervising Assistant Prosecutor Maggie Calderwood, Esq. danced as a young girl.
